FORMAT

The World Team Trophy is a team event, held in Japan every other year. Six nations qualify for the World Team Trophy based on the ISU World Standing points earned throughout the season by a nation’s top two women, top two men, top pair team and top dance team.

Each nation’s team is composed of two women’s singles, two men’s singles, one pair and one ice dance team. All skaters compete in both segments of the competition (short program/rhythm dance, free program/free dance) and earn points for their team based on their placement in each segment. Singles skaters ranked from 1st to 12th place can earn 12 to 1 point, respectively. Pairs and dance teams ranked from 1st to 6th place can earn 12 to 7 points, respectively. The team with the highest point total at the end of the competition wins.

For more information, see the WTT Announcement.
