2015 GP Skate Canada & CS Ice Challenge: Info & Streaming

The Grand Prix continues this week with Skate Canada International, taking place in Lethbridge, AB, Canada from Oct. 30 - Nov. 1. More info will be added to this post as it appears.

Times listed below are in Canadian Mountain Daylight Time (UTC-6). See here for major time zone conversions (thanks @mirrorhands!) or convert to your own time zone. (Note: Daylight Savings time ends in Canada on Nov. 1.)

Oct. 30: Short dance 13:00; Ladies’ SP 14:20; Men’s SP 17:45; Pairs’ SP 19:40
Oct. 31: Ladies’ FS 12:00; Free dance 14:30; Pairs’ FS 17:00; Men’s FS 18:45

HOW TO WATCH

Skate Canada will livestream the official practices.

Note: Free streaming sites can have many popups and ads, so use at your own risk.

Eurosport 2: British Eurosport 2 will air most of the competition live. Other Eurosport channels may have different schedules. Stream 1, Stream 2. Broadcast times in GMT:

  • Oct. 30: Short dance 19:45; Ladies’ SP 21:15;

  • Oct. 31: Men’s SP 00:45; Pairs’ SP 10:00 (delayed); Ladies’ FS 19:00; Free dance 21:00

  • Nov. 1: Pairs’ FS 00:00; Men’s FS 10:00 (delayed)

  • Nov. 2: Gala 01:00 (delayed)

CTV & TSN: Canada’s TSN and CTV will show most of the competition live. Official TSN stream (blocked outside of Canada), TSN 1 stream, TSN 2 stream. Official CTV stream (blocked outside of Canada), unblocked CTV stream. Broadcast times in Canadian Eastern:

  • 10/30 TSN 1: Short dance & Ladies’ SP 3:00pm

  • 10/30 TSN 2: Men’s & Pairs’ SP 7:30pm

  • 10/31 CTV: Ladies’ FS 2:00pm

  • 10/31 CTV: Pairs’ FS 7:00pm

  • 10/31 TSN 1: Men’s FS 8:30pm

ISU: The ISU stream will show all of Skate Canada live. This stream is blocked in countries that have bought broadcasting rights to the Grand Prix (more details at the link) but should be available everywhere else.

YLE: Finland’s YLE will livestream the competition, but the streams are blocked outside of Finland. Streams: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3. YLE TV2 will also show delayed broadcasts of the competition.

Icenetwork & NBC: Subscribers in the US can watch the competition live on Icenetwork. NBC will air a delayed recap of the competition on Nov. 1 from 4:30-6pm.

CCTV 5+: China’s CCTV 5+ will air delayed broadcasts of the competition on TV. Times in CST: Oct. 31 at 17:05, Nov. 1 at 16:05. Stream 1, Stream 2.

Other TV channels: Japan’s TV Asahi will air delayed broadcasts of the competition, but I do not know of any reliable streams at this time. Check your local TV schedules for other skating broadcasts.

Youtube: If you can’t watch live, videos from the competition will be uploaded to Youtube very quickly, so you can always catch up later. Search skaters’ names and filter by upload date for the latest videos.


ICE CHALLENGE

Ice Challenge is part of this season’s Challenger Series. Events for junior and lower levels are held concurrently, but these are not part of the Challenger Series.
