2016 Skate America Preview Part 1: Ladies & Pairs

The 2016 Grand Prix Series starts with Skate America this week, and things are heating up as we go into the pre-Olympic season!

SYWTWFS recently gained many new followers, so we’ll try our best to write previews for as many competitions as possible this season in order to introduce everyone to some of the top skaters in the current field. This part of our Skate America preview will cover the ladies and pairs fields.

2016 GP Skate America & Cup of Nice: Info & Streaming

The Grand Prix is upon us! Skate America takes place this week in Hoffmann Estates, IL, USA, kicking off six weeks of intense competition leading up to the Grand Prix Final. This post provides broadcast schedules and live streaming links for the competition and will be updated as more information appears.

Cup of Nice, an international B competition, will also take place this week in Nice, France. Information for this competition is given at the end of the post.

  • Oct. 21: Ladies’ SP 19:05; Pairs’ SP 21:00

  • Oct. 22: Men’s SP 13:05; Ladies’ FS 15:00; Short Dance 19:00; Pairs’ FS 20:40

HOW TO WATCH

Beware of popups and ads on free streaming sites; use them at your own risk. This post focuses on live broadcasts. Other TV channels not mentioned here might show the competition in delayed broadcasts.

ISU: The ISU stream will show the entire competition and gala live. This stream is blocked in countries that have purchased broadcasting rights to the competition (update: appears to be blocked in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, USA, Canada, LatAm, Australia, Singapore.).

Icenetwork: Subscribers in the US can watch the entire competition and gala live on Icenetwork, except for the ladies’ and men’s free skates, which will be aired live on NBC (see below).

NBC:NBC will air the ladies’ and men’s free skates live. Some of the earlier skaters might be cut. Broadcast schedule in EDT:

Match TV: Russia’s Match TV will air parts of the competition live. Schedule in Moscow Time:
