Fuji TV: Japan’s Fuji TV will air parts of the singles free skates in delayed broadcasts on Mar. 20 at 02:50 JST (men’s FS) and 16:05 JST (ladies’ FS). Unblocked stream

Youtube: If you can’t watch live, videos from the competition will be uploaded to Youtube pretty quickly, so you can always catch up later. Search skaters’ names and filter by upload date for the latest videos.

2016 Winter Youth Olympics: Info & Streaming

The figure skating events of the second Winter Youth Olympics will take place Feb. 13-16 and Feb. 20 in Lillehammer, Norway. The Youth Olympics are open to athletes within a certain age range. The figure skating competition will be judged as an ISU junior-level competition. Skaters will compete in individual events as well as a team event; teams will consist of a mix of skaters from different countries and skaters will perform their free skates only.

The Olympics Youtube channel will stream the entire opening ceremony, free dance and ladies’ FS live, worldwide, and will upload daily highlight videos of the other events.

Norwegian TV channel NRK will air the free dance and ladies’ FS live. They will also show a few highlights from the figure skating competition on Feb. 16 at 17:50 CET. Streaming links given are blocked outside of Norway.

NBC Sports will air 1-hour recaps from the Youth Olympics (see link for exact schedule). These recaps may or may not include highlights from the figure skating competitions. Stream: NBC Live Extra (requires login with TV provider)

The Games are held roughly every 4 years, with the most recent taking place in 2012. 2016 Medal Winners Open & New Year on Ice

MEDAL WINNERS OPEN

The third Medal Winners Open will take place in Osaka, Japan on Jan. 15. Medal Winners Open is an invitational professional competition judged by ISU judges but with a different format and scoring from regular competitions. Five men and five ladies will compete with one “free skate” at MWO. Most of the participants have retired from competitive skating, though some have not. MWO will be held a day before the New Year on Ice shows at the same venue.

PROGRAM FORMAT

  • Length: 3min. 30s. (+/- 10s.) for men; 3min. 10s. (+/- 10s.) for ladies

  • Program should include 3 jumps with at least 2 rotations. One of these can be a combination of 2 jumps or a sequence with any number of jumps. (Only the 2 most difficult jumps in a sequence will be counted.)

  • Program should include any 3 spins of different types and a choreographic sequence.

  • Any music, including vocals, can be used.

  • Carried/worn props such as hats, capes, umbrellas etc. can be used, but chairs and tables cannot.

  • The program should focus on artistic merit.

NEW YEAR ON ICE

New Year on Ice is a new skating show hosted by TBS along with Medal Winners Open and will take place at the same venue. Most of the competitors of MWO will skate at NYOI along with several other skaters.
