Icenetwork & NBC: Subscribers in the US can watch the competition live on Icenetwork. NBC will air a delayed recap of the competition on Nov. 1 from 4:30-6pm.

CCTV 5+: China’s CCTV 5+ will air delayed broadcasts of the competition on TV. Times in CST: Oct. 31 at 17:05, Nov. 1 at 16:05. Stream 1, Stream 2.

Other TV channels: Japan’s TV Asahi will air delayed broadcasts of the competition, but I do not know of any reliable streams at this time. Check your local TV schedules for other skating broadcasts.

Youtube: If you can’t watch live, videos from the competition will be uploaded to Youtube very quickly, so you can always catch up later. Search skaters’ names and filter by upload date for the latest videos.


ICE CHALLENGE

ISU: The ISU stream will show all of Skate America live. This stream is blocked in countries that have bought broadcasting rights to the Grand Prix (eg. USA, Canada, Japan, S. Korea, China, Russia, most of Europe) but should be available everywhere else.

2015 Grand Prix Series: An Overview

In a little over a week, the ISU Grand Prix Series kicks off with Skate America! For the next six weeks, skaters from around the world will compete in six different countries and the top six skaters in each discipline will earn a spot at the Grand Prix Final in December.

This post is an overview for the entire series; I will make separate posts for each week’s competition with streaming links and more detailed info.

Busy week coming up as more top senior skaters debut their new programs at Japan Open and Ondrej Nepela Trophy, while the Junior Grand Prix continues with its sixth stop in Spain!

JAPAN OPEN

Japan Open is an invitational team competition where skaters are grouped into Team Japan, Team Europe, and Team North America. Each team includes two ladies and two men. Skaters compete with only their free skates; their scores are added up and the team with the greatest number of points wins. Retired skaters can also be invited. The Japan Open gala is called Carnival on Ice and invites skaters who did not participate in the competition, in addition to the ones who did.
